he probably does not need a raichu. he was looking for something else entirely, but he still finds himself in a dilemma at the sight of a pokemon he probably won't use for more than one thread.

he blames bailey for getting him to stick to a theme for his elite four matches.

kyle releases his mightyena. "just attack it or something," he orders it as he takes out his phone and start swiping screens until he comes up to the alolan variant of a raichu. he can barely manage with alolan pokemon, and with galarian pokemon within the battle scene too, he needs to catch up with what a lot of pokemon can do.

as he studies on shit an alolan raichu can do, his mightyena pounces and surprises the electric-type with a crunch. the attack comes in a sudden and takes the raichu off guard. it falls under the mightyena's weight without a fight.

the moment kyle takes his eyes off of his phone, he throws a pokeball at it.
